I would say, “Of course it is!” It really is for everyone. It doesn’t matter if you are young or old. It doesn’t matter if you are rich or poor. It doesn’t matter if you are male or female, and it especially doesn’t matter if you are a yogi, religious, or just the everyday person on the street. Meditation is something you can do, something you can learn, and something you can practice every day to improve your life. And if you want to learn the how-tos, then the book Breaking The Habit Of Being Yourself – How to Lose Your Mind and Create a New One by Dr. Joe Dispenza is a great place to start.
Meditation is the practice of moving your focus from everything going on around you, to focusing on your mind inside to where your true self and true spirit dwell. It is actually quite a scientific practice, meaning, if it is practiced the same way, you can experience wonderful results both within you and in the world around you on a consistent basis. It helps you move your attention from the environment, body, and time to what you intend, what you think, and to who you truly are. It takes you from a place where your mind is full and thoughts are whirling about, to a place of mindfulness, creativity, clarity, and joy.
What are some other benefits of meditation? Psychology Today gives many benefits. Meditation reduces pain and enhances the body’s immune system. It reduces feelings of depression, anxiety, anger, and confusion. It increases blood flow, slows the heart rate, and has even helped reverse heart disease. It provides a sense of calm, peace, and balance and helps you control your thoughts. And, it increases energy and reduces stress.
From Dr. Joe’s perspective and experience, it helps you break the habit of being your old self, and helps you hardwire into the person you want to be. I have been meditating for over 20 years and have received many of these and other benefits within myself and in my life. As a co-host of Quantum Leap Book Club on Law of Attraction Radio Network, I invite you to go out and get the book, listen to the recordings and join me to listen and learn how to meditate and create the life, and the YOU, that you want. Be mindful, instead of your mind is full.
